Dear Mr George,

Thank you for your letter of 24 October to the First Minister expressing your very specific concerns, including allegations of a paedophile network operating in Scotland.

I have to say that it is not clear from your letter whether you have reported your concerns to the police. I know that the police forces throughout Scotland all strive to deliver the highest possible standards of policing and are never complacent about the importance of protecting vulnerable people and safeguarding their welfare. The police also continue to take action to improve the confidence of people reporting crime. Accordingly, I would strongly advise that if you have any information or concerns which you have not already drawn to the attention of the police you should do so now.
